These policies govern purchases, transfers and use of the Sticks & Stones site. By placing an order or requesting a transfer or quote, you agree to the terms below.

Terms of Sale
All sales are subject to applicable federal, state and local law and to a successful background check where required. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay for that order; prices and availability change without notice, and placing an order does not by itself form a contract.
An order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we confirm it to you, and we may decline or cancel any order or transfer before then — for example if we cannot lawfully complete it, if the item is no longer available from our supplier, if a listing contained a pricing or description error, or if eligibility cannot be verified. If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we refund it in full. No firearm or NFA item is transferred until every legal requirement is met.
Payment & Tax
- Prices are in US dollars.
- How you pay: you pay by card at checkout. Card details are entered in a secure window served by Elavon, our payment processor, over an encrypted connection. Placing the order and taking payment happen in the same step; where an item needs an FFL transfer or an NFA tax stamp, those are arranged separately and are not part of the amount charged at checkout.
- We never see or store your card number. Card details are never typed into a page we host and never reach our servers. Our systems hold only a reference to the transaction — never the full card number, and never the security code.
- Maine sales tax is applied where required by law. Tax-exempt and resale buyers should contact us with a valid certificate before ordering.
Shipping & FFL Transfer
- Firearms cannot ship to a residence. They ship to a licensed FFL — ours or one you choose — and you complete the transfer in person after a background check. See FFL Transfers.
- NFA items (suppressors, SBRs) transfer through a licensed SOT/FFL on an ATF Form 4 — with a $0 federal tax stamp as of 2026 — after approval, never directly to your home. See NFA & Suppressors.
- Accessories and non-regulated gear may ship directly to you, to the address you provide, subject to carrier and legal restrictions.
- Some items ship to us first. We stock and drop-ship from a number of suppliers. Where an item is not drop-shipped direct to you, it comes to our premises and we forward it, which adds a few business days. If an item is on that route and you need it by a date, ask us before ordering and we will give you a realistic timeline.
- Title and risk of loss for shippable goods pass on delivery to the carrier. We are not responsible for carrier delays.
Returns
All sales are final. Firearms and NFA items cannot be returned once transferred to you, and we do not accept change-of-mind returns on other items.
- Defective or damaged goods are handled under the manufacturer's warranty, and we will help you open the claim. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery for anything that arrives damaged in transit so we can document it with the carrier.
- If we made the mistake — wrong item, wrong quantity, item not as described — we fix it at our cost, including return shipping. No restocking fee applies.
- Returns we authorise as an exception are at our discretion, must be requested in writing before the item is sent back, and are subject to a 15% restocking fee. The item must be unused, undamaged and in its original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer.
- Special orders, opened electronics and any item that cannot be resold as new are not returnable under any circumstances.
Ask us before you buy if you are unsure. We would far rather answer a question first than turn down a return afterwards.
Privacy
We collect only the information needed to serve you: your name, contact details, billing and shipping address, the transferring dealer you choose, and anything you send us by email, transfer or back-in-stock alert.
- Payment data. We do not collect card details on this site. When online card payment is added, card data will go to our payment processor, not to us — we will never see or store a full card number or security code.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it except where needed to complete your order — for example giving a distributor the shipping address, or sending your transfer details to the FFL you selected.
- Records required by law for firearm transactions, including ATF Form 4473 and our acquisition-and-disposition record, are retained and handled exactly as federal law requires. Those obligations override any deletion request.
- Email. Order and transfer messages are transactional and are sent for as long as your order is open. Marketing emails and back-in-stock alerts include an unsubscribe link and can be stopped at any time.
- To ask what we hold about you, or to correct it, email sales@sticksandstonesweapons.com.
- No analytics, advertising pixels or tracking scripts. This site runs none. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising or conversion pixels, session recording, or any cross-site tracker, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising.
- Cookies. Browsing the public pages sets no cookies at all. Signing in sets a single session cookie so the site can keep you logged in; it carries no advertising or tracking data and expires on its own.
- Outside services a page contacts. We run no analytics, no advertising or
conversion pixels, no session recording and no cross-site trackers. A handful of other
companies are contacted by your browser as a technical consequence of showing you the page,
and each of them sees your IP address and which page you were on:
- Product photographs are served from our suppliers’ and the manufacturers’ own servers rather than copied onto ours, so those companies deliver the images you see.
- Paying by card loads the payment form directly from Elavon (api.convergepay.com). Your card details go to Elavon and never reach our server — see the payment section below.
- Typefaces come from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com).
- The transfer-dealer finder sends the ZIP code you type to api.zippopotam.us to turn it into map coordinates, and draws the map from OpenStreetMap and CARTO. It runs only when you use it, and only the ZIP you typed is sent — no name, no address, nothing about your order.
- Working out your state never leaves our server. When you place an order we check which US state your connection is in, so the shipping restrictions described below can be applied. That lookup runs against a database held on our own machine — your IP address is not sent to any outside service for it. IP geolocation data is provided by DB-IP under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
- What we record with an order. Alongside your order we store the IP address and browser user-agent it was placed from. We keep this to detect fraud and to evidence that state shipping restrictions were applied correctly — not to build a profile of you.
Legal & Compliance Disclaimers
- All transactions comply with the Gun Control Act, the National Firearms Act and applicable state and local law. You must be legally eligible to purchase and possess what you order.
- Minimum age requirements apply (generally 21 for handguns and suppressors, 18 for long guns) and may be higher under state law.
- We do not ship every item to every state. Magazine capacity limits, assault weapon rules, suppressor and NFA bans and body-armour restrictions vary, and our checkout blocks items we cannot lawfully send to your state. If an item is blocked, that is why.
- It is the buyer's responsibility to know and follow the firearm laws of their state and locality. We transfer only where the item is lawful for you to own.
- Nothing on this site is an offer to sell where prohibited, and listings are not legal advice.
- Manufacturer specifications, images and pricing are provided for reference and may change.
